Co-Curricular Music
In addition to Individual Music Lessons, we offer a range of ensembles which boys are invited to join when they attain an appropriate standard for that group.

MusicOne of the main occasions in which the ensembles perform is the Summer Concert but they will also play throughout the year in assemblies and informal concerts.

Ensembles which take place on a weekly basis include Brass Ensemble, String Ensemble, Samba Band, Hit-Men, Guitar Ensemble, Wind Band and various choirs.

Year 3 and 4 Choir is open to any boy in Year 3 and 4 without audition. This Choir performs throughout the year including at the Summer Concert. Pupils in Year 3 and 4 also stage a Christmas production and an end of year musical.

MusicYear 5 and 6 Choir is open to any boy in Year 5 and 6 and rehearses for an hour each week, performing at Harvest and Christmas services in the Chapel as well as the Summer Concert  alongside other events each year. Following an audition, some boys may be invited to join Grange Choir. This academic year, Grange Choir will be performing at Stowe School for the Prep Schools’ Choral Day in November as well as major concerts and events in School. Each year, a few boys will be invited to sing as trebles in the Senior School College Choir performing at the Cadogan Hall and St. John’s Smith Square amongst other venues, as well as touring to Croatia in the summer of 2015.

Scholarships may be awarded to the Senior School and boys should be able to offer two instruments of at least a distinction in Grade 4 or a merit/distinction in Grade 5 on their first instrument. They will be required to perform on both instruments as well as sight read/sight sing at interview.
