Maintaining the health and well-being of all the pupils is a priority to us.
Senior School Health Centre
Known as ‘the White House’, the school’s onsite health centre is managed by registered Nurse Mrs C Cartwright RN BSc, and her nursing assistant Mrs T Cunningham. It is open Monday to Friday 8:30am-5pm.
The nurses strive to create an environment where pupils feel safe and supported, providing them the guidance to make healthy and informed choices. There is an open door policy and the nurses can be visited at any time throughout the day; however, pupils are encouraged to see the nurse during breaks.
The White House is seen as an established and essential part of the school, meeting the needs of those who require medical attention, health education or simply a quiet place to rest when respite is needed.
Confidentiality is assured where health matters are concerned, and all pupils have access to a trained counsellor should the need arise.
A medical form is completed by parents before their child joins the school. Pupils can be cared for if they become unwell during the school day; parents are contacted and asked to collect them if they are unable to return to class.
