A Level Results Rise Again for Eltham College

We are delighted to be celebrating yet another rise in A level results along with fantastic offers from some of the country’s most prestigious universities. Students achieved an outstanding set of results with 62% A*/A grades and 90% A*- B grades, a strong increase on the from the results achieved in 2017.

Sebastiano Zane was awarded three A* grades in Computing, Mathematics, Further Mathematics, and an A grade in Physics. He will now go on to study Electrical and Electronic Engineering at Imperial College London.

On opening his results, Sebastiano said: “I am overjoyed with my results. The teaching is amazing here and staff are always so supportive and willing to go above and beyond to help.”

Sebastiano has spent the last two years fulfilling his role as Head Boy and has taken advantage of all the opportunities Eltham College has offered him. He has immersed himself in most of the Drama productions, taking on roles both on stage and backstage. He also has taken part in various Music concerts playing the drums, most notably performing at Ronnie Scott’s Jazz Club.

Vanessa Mabelle is another high achiever securing two A* grades in Physics and Religious Studies along with an A grade in History. Vanessa will now take up her place to study History and Politics at the University of Warwick. Since arriving at Eltham College, Vanessa has been involved in numerous Drama productions, most notably gaining lead roles in Anything GoesOliver! and taking part in House Drama competitions.

Music students Edward and Mathew also had a lot to celebrate, their results mean they will be able to take up places they have been offered at The Royal College of Music and The Northern College of Music respectively. Edward, who was offered places at both Conservatoires, will be one of only three Trumpeters accepted each year.

Edward said: “The credit has to go to my teachers who have been so kind and supportive during my time at Eltham College. I am excited for the future and to continue pursuing my passion at The Royal College of Music.”
