How to Apply
All prospective candidates are encouraged to come and visit us before registering to sit an entrance examination. Please come and visit us at one of our upcoming Open Days or Visitor Mornings.
To apply for a place at the College all prospective candidates must complete the relevant registration form, include all the requested supporting documentation, and pay a non-refundable application fee of £125. Acceptance of registration does not constitute an offer of a place.
Once we have accepted your registration we will contact all prospective candidates with details about arrangements for the assessment day. If successful at the assessment day a candidate will be offered a place to study at Eltham College.
On accepting a place, parents are required to pay a deposit and sign a contract which outlines the standard terms and conditions under which their child is accepted as a student at Eltham College. Offer of a place is also subject to satisfactory references from the candidate’s current school.

11+ Entry Assessment
External candidates for Year 7 2021 will be assessed in small, socially distanced groups of no more than 5 students. Everyone will sit a computer adaptive verbal and non-verbal reasoning assessment as well as a written English paper. As the computer adaptive test includes a significant mathematical/numerical reasoning element, we will not be asking the students to complete a separate Mathematics paper.
For the first time, this year we are not able to conduct one-to-one interviews with our candidates, but we will meet each one of them and spend time with them in the small group environment. On the day we will ask each child to complete a short form which asks them to tell us a little bit more about themselves in terms of their interests and hobbies. All of this information will be considered as part of the decision process.
Once offers have been made February, we hope that we will be able to invite offer holders to Eltham College for an afternoon of lessons which will give them an insight into what it is like to be a student here.
Students who are accepted for entry to Year 7 are able to proceed through to the Sixth Form without the need for further assessment. However all students wishing to study A levels are required to meet the minimum entry of six GCSE subjects at grade 7 or higher.
Scholarships and Bursaries
All candidates who sit the entrance examinations are automatically considered for an Academic Scholarship. There are further assessments for those children who pass the academic threshold and who wish to be considered for a Music, Sport, Art or Drama Scholarship.
As well as, Academic, Sport, Music, Art and Drama Scholarships at 11+ entry, we offer means-tested financial bursaries for families who may not be able to afford the fees. Visit the Scholarship and Bursaries section for more information.
