School bags should be navy or black without large, colourful logos. An optional Eltham College school backpack is available from Stevensons.

No jewellery of any sort is allowed. No nail varnish.
Hair should not be unnaturally coloured. Hair should be tidy and not unacceptably long or excessively short. Hair must be tied back for practical lessons and sports.
Junior School PE Kit
Eltham College items as supplied by Stevensons: cream cricket/PE shirt, white shorts.
Additional required items: white socks, trainers, navy fitted “jammer” swim shorts or swimming costume, goggles and towel.
Junior School Games Kit
Eltham College items as supplied by Stevensons: Junior reversible games shirt (house colour inside), Rugby/Hockey/Netball shorts, games socks, tracksuit top and tracksuit trousers.
Additional items: Rugby/Hockey boots (grass), trainers.
Additional items of sports kit are available but are not compulsory: including an Eltham College hoody for colder days. Stevensons also hold stock of useful sports accessory items including baselayers (white long-sleeved tees, navy baselayer shorts and/or leggings), sports kit bags and hats.
If your child is selected for a cricket team in Year 5 or 6, they will need Eltham College cricket whites (trousers) and either a sleeveless or long-sleeved cricket jumper (as supplied by Stevensons). Please wait to be advised whether this is required.
Junior School Outdoor Wear
Outdoor wear must be coloured plain, dark navy blue or grey. Raincoats, duffle coats, anoraks and cagoules are permitted. These must have no plastic or leather patches and the lining must be unobtrusive. A navy school coat is available from Stevensons.
Cyclists on their way to school may wear suitable protective clothing over their uniform, including fluorescent bands, but must, of course, wear their uniform into school buildings.
Scarves must be plain navy or black.
Dark coloured gloves.
Coats, gloves and scarves are for outdoor wear only.

Navy Eltham College Design Technology apron, as supplied by Stevensons, for all students in Year 7 to 9. From Year 10 a Navy DT lab coat may be worn.
The Science Department will supply lab coats.

If your child is selected to represent the College in a Senior team the coach will place kit orders directly with Stevensons on the team’s behalf. The costs of these items will be added to your termly bill if required. In such circumstances parents will be notified in advance.

NB: During the winter months some training and most matches are held outside. It can get extremely cold and it may be necessary to wear layers.

Music Concerts and Performances

Please note that the dress code for the majority of Eltham College (Senior School) concerts is dinner jackets (or very dark/black suits) with black bow tie and white shirt for boys and all black (long dresses) for girls. If your child is asked to perform, please ensure that they have the appropriate concert dress.

Sixth Form Uniform

Sixth Form boys should wear a dark grey, navy or black suit. NB: Pinstripes are not acceptable. As an alternative, boys may wear a plain navy blazer with mid-grey trousers and a white shirt.Sixth Form girls should wear a black, dark grey or navy suit. NB: Pinstripes are not acceptable. Girls may wear either a skirt or trouser suit. The skirt/trousers must either be part of the same suit as the jacket, or be of a material that is not noticeably different to the jacket (not cotton). Skirt length should be closer to the knee than the hip. Cropped trousers (cut to the calf) are not acceptable but trousers cut to the ankle can be worn.

Second-Hand Clothing

The Parent-Teacher Association organise a second-hand clothing sale on the first Thursday of every month throughout the academic year where school uniform (including dinner jackets) may be bought and sold. Please note that the standard College brand has been updated and new items are available to parents for the first time from the summer of 2017. Items in the previous style may be worn until summer 2019.
