Eltham College is delighted to be celebrating an outstanding set of GCSE results. The College has beaten last year’s record results with almost half of the entire year group awarded ten A*-A grades and a third of students receiving straight A* grades.
A staggering 57% of this year’s GCSE students achieved the top A* grade, an extraordinary increase of 13% from the previous year. Students collectively achieved a remarkable 88% A* to A grades, which is a 6% rise from 2016.
There was huge success across core subjects with 90% of students achieving either an A*-A grade in Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics, English as well as in Geography, Music, Drama, Religious Studies, Mandarin and Design and Technology.
Ishaan Shukula was among one of our students that received an excellent 11 A* grades, he said: “I am completely amazed with my results. Thank you to all of my teachers for the extra support and help over the past two years.”
This news follows the College’s fantastic set of A level results achieved last week with many students securing places at prestigious universities. Overall 89% of our A level students gained A* to B grades with many gaining four straight A*-A grades.
