On Saturday 3 February, Eltham College held its Inaugural Sports Dinner, attended by 120 guests. Auctions of a wide variety of sporting memorabilia were held throughout the evening in an effort to raise money for sports bursaries and tours, they were very successful as a notable sum of money was raised through the contribution of everyone in attendance.
The guest of honour was Jason Leonard, ex England and British and Irish Lions rugby player with over 100 appearances for the national side, who provided a commendable speech which had everyone listening with all ears. Entertainment came in the form of good music and a number of speeches in which everyone took part in, the food served on the night was thoroughly enjoyed by all with all credit going to the catering team for providing yet another wonderful meal.
It was a wonderful evening which went perfectly thanks to all the effort that went into the preparation of the event, led by Mr Thorogood and Mrs Maddison. Special thanks to Mr Leonard who helped make the evening a huge success, accompanied by excellent food, drinks and service provided by the catering team and everyone behind the scenes.
