Eltham College is proud to announce excellent GCSE results by Year 11 students with high grades achieved across all subjects.
Nearly a quarter of the year group gained straight 9s (the highest grade) and almost half of our students achieved all 9/8 grades. Around 85% of all grades were 9/8, and more than 95% of the year group achieved eight or more grades at 9/8/7.
Students in subjects like Further Maths, Geology, and various Modern Languages all achieved grade 9s, and 100% of all grades in Art, Design and Technology, English Language, and Spanish were 9/8/7. In other subjects like Biology, Chemistry, Computing, English Literature, Geography, History and Physics, over 95% of students also attained the top grades.
Ben Robinson, one of our many students who achieved 10+ GCSEs with grades at 9, commented: “I am really pleased and relieved with my results. The impact of the pandemic and the changes to and from remote learning has made this a difficult year for me and our year group. I want to say a big thank you to all my teachers and family for all the support they have given me that has inspired me to do my best. I am now really looking forward to starting my A Level courses next term.”
Guy Sanderson, Headmaster, commented: “Our GCSE Students should be rightly proud that their efforts have been rewarded with excellent results and we offer huge congratulations to all of them for their deserved success that has come after 18 months of disruption to daily life, and thanks to their teachers who have continued to support and inspire them throughout this time.
“I am really thrilled for them and we look forward to welcoming them back for the start of the new term when they will commence their chosen A Level courses. They all have very promising futures ahead of them.”
