Elthamian Artists selected to exhibit at the inaugural Royal Academy Young Artists’ Summer Show

Since 1768 the Royal Academy has welcomed artists to submit their work in order to take part in their Summer Exhibition. This year the very first Young Artists’ Summer Show will take place, exhibiting work by talented primary and secondary school students from across the UK.

Over 6200 entries were received and the 139 artworks selected for display were chosen by an esteemed panel of judges, including Bob and Roberta Smith.

Upper Sixth student Anna McAnallen has had her entry, a portrait of fellow student Emmanuel Sonuga, selected to be part of the inaugural exhibition. Caitlin Cole (U6) also had her work selected for their online exhibition. Other Elthamian artists Bee and Emilia made it down to the last 700.

The exhibition runs from 13 July to 4 August at the Royal Academy of Arts. Entry is free and no booking is required.

All these pieces will be on display closer to home in the Gerald Moore Gallery for the A Level Art Exhibition Private View on 25 June.
