Tax-Efficiency for donors in the US
Eltham College is now a member of the British Schools and University Fund and have a listing on their website. Gifts may be made to the Foundation expressing preference for support of Eltham College. By donating to BSUF, your donation qualifies for current year tax-deduction. They then send the donations to us on a regular basis. There are two ways to donate to Eltham College via BSUF, by cheque or by credit card.
Gifts made by cheque
Gifts may be made to the Foundation expressing preference for support of Eltham College. Cheques should be made payable to British Schools and Universities Foundation, Inc. (or BSUF) and postmarked on or before December 31st to qualify for current-year tax deduction.
If you send your donation directly to the BSUF please use the BSUF Donor Transmittal Form.
These should be mailed to:
British Schools and Universities Foundation, Inc.
575 Madison Avenue, Suite 1006
New York, NY 10022-2511
Gifts made by credit card
British Schools and Universities Foundation, Inc. has partnered with Network for Good to securely process your online credit card donation via the Network for Good Donor Advised Fund (tax ID 68-0480736). This transaction will appear on your credit card statement as “Network for Good.”
Your employer may have a Matching Gift Program which could double or triple the value of your gift. Your employer will provide you with a form, which, when completed should be sent along with your cheque to BSUF.
Alternatively, you can make your gift online but of course this doesn’t qualify for tax relief.
Tax-Efficiency for European donors
Some European countries are now giving tax efficient benefits for cross-border philanthropic gifts and donations to help and support foreign charities. If you pay tax in a European country, you may be eligible to receive tax benefits as a result of the decision by the European Court of Justice in January 2009.
At European level, Transnational Giving Europe (TGE) network is a practical and secure solution for tax-effective cross-border cash donations. TGE Partners include Belgium, Bulgaria, France, Germany, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Luxembourg, The Netherlands, Poland and Switzerland covering 14 countries and enabling donors resident in one of the participating countries to financially support nonprofit organisations in other Member States, while benefitting directly from the tax advantages provided for in the legislation of their country of residence.
European donors wishing to receive tax relief for cross-border donations, will need to contact their local partner office. For complete information please contact the Transnational Giving Europe (TGE).
If you have any further questions please do not hesitate to contact the Development Office.
