Eltham College Sixth Form student, Max, had a successful summer by winning the Junior Kent U16 and U18 Golf Championships at Rochester and Cobham GC.

With rain affecting the whole of the morning’s play Max (Sundridge Park) took an early lead with a gross 69, closely followed by three players on level par 71.

The afternoon brought mixed fortunes for the boys but Max followed up with a 71 which was enough for him to take the title by three shots.

He has therefore been invited by England Golf to play in a competition against all other County winners across the Country at Woodhall Spa this Friday 9th, Saturday 9th and 10th September.

Max commented,

‘It felt great to win the Kent U18 this summer at Rochester and Cobham. It was a strong field with many of the players from the same Kent squad as me, so it was good for the confidence near the end of the season. I’m looking forward to playing in the Kent Champions of Champions against all the other county U18 winners this Weekend at Woodhall Spa, I’m hoping to represent my school, county and club well.’

We’ll be supporting Max and wishing him every success over this coming weekend!
