Languages Week

The last week of September was significant for two reasons: not only did the Paris fashion show take place but also, more importantly, it was Languages Week. This saw a range of language-related quizzes, challenges, games and competitions in both the Junior and Senior Schools bringing a great, international atmosphere to both parts of the School. Students and staff also enjoyed an international lunch themed menu for the duration of the week.

As students in the Junior School were fiercely competing in boules competitions, Senior School students were vying for prizes across a number of multi-lingual challenges. On Wednesday, French children’s author, Charlotte Cottard, visited the College to run a series of workshops for Years 6 and 7 on her début book Sentoki, l’alligator explorateur, with many students purchasing a copy. Friday brought a Taiji workshop to Central Hall, where students across year groups did well to master some very tricky moves. Of course, Languages Week would not be complete without the hugely popular international karaoke competition. This year was no disappointment, with congratulations to Ojorumi E (Year 11) and Ms Su, who won the student and staff categories respectively.
