News from the Parents’ Association

Last year, with the prospect of the old school uniform in its final stages of being phased out, The Parents Association developed a partnership with the charity National Police Aid Convoys. We asked for any unwanted clothes, (not just school uniform,) and you responded in droves!

Everything sent in was packed up and sent to areas around the world where it was most needed. The project quickly grew, with both the Junior and Senior school donating hundreds of books as well. One of the first shipment’s recently arrived in Zambia and they were thrilled with the donations. We thought you would like to see a couple of pictures!

Many thanks to everyone who donated, and a special thank you to Sarah Johnson and Sue Hill for leading this project.

On Friday 7 February, the Parent’s Association held their Annual Pop Quiz with the wonderful Canterbury Oasthouse Trust providing the rounds of fun and frustrating questions. King George’s Hall was once again packed to the rafters with almost 160 people determined to take the number one spot this year!

The final winners were once again, “Never Gonna Quiz You Up,” winning for the 4th year in a row! Thank you to everybody who came along, we raised a record breaking £3200, and were thrilled to donate £1200 of that to such an amazing charity. We look forward to seeing you all again next year!
