Ready Set Cook!

On Tuesday 2 March, Year 7 participated in an exciting ‘Ready Set Cook’ competition, led by Chef James from Chartwells. The aim of the session was to get the students thinking about the different food groups and how healthy eating can improve their productivity at school.

For the competition, two sets of students were split into the Red and Green teams. The challenge was to cook a healthy dish in just 15 minutes. The Green Team consisted of James Johnson and Barney Evans with help from Mr Brown; they had to produce a delicious vegetarian burrito. The Red Team was made up of Dominic Wade and Matthew Chick with assistance from Mr King; they were challenged with making an aromatic Thai curry.

Students were invited to judge for themselves the preparation and cooking, with a taste test at the end of the 15 minutes. After a narrow vote by the students, the Red Team were victorious!
