Wellbeing

At Eltham College we have a dedicated Head of Wellbeing who provides a programme of events to support students, in age appropriate ways, across the 5 Rs of our wellbeing programme; resilience, respect, relationships, responsibility and readiness. Students from Year 7 through to the Sixth Form, during their time at Eltham take part in various lessons that focus on different aspects of these five areas.

Understanding Extremism - explore the factors which contribute to extremist ideologies and behaviours
Risk and Consequence – consider different types of “risky” behaviour, and consider the consequences of these types of behaviour, including in relation to the law

Developing Scholarship – identifying the values that can be used to identify higher education pathways, and cultivating scholarship in order to achieve HE goals
Men’s Health - the implications of intimate relationships, the impact of STIs, and men’s health issues
Celebrating Diversity - challenging homophobic and sexist attitudes and promoting equality
Understanding Addiction - how addiction occurs, including alcohol, drugs and online gambling addiction
Cultural Awareness - understand the reality of institutional racism, the impact of prejudice, and how to be proactive in challenging racism
Personal Safety and Emergency Aid - First aid responses for a range of situations, including CPR, and how to maintain personal safety
